A Fransican Benediction

If there is such a thing as a missional benediction, this is one:

May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships, so that you may live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.

May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, and war, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and to turn their pain in to joy.

And may God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world, so that you can do what others claim cannot be done.

I guess that God gave me an abundance of those "blessings" Rev. Willy, although I am more of a don't get angry, get even, kind of guy.

Here is the comment that I left in response to your comment on Rev. Frederick Wooden's 'Aside From The Oblivious' blog today -

"I couldn't agree more with you about most mega-churches. I really don't think that's what Jesus had in mind at all for the church. Many of them are like shopping malls where one can pick and choose what they want to consume."

Whereas the churches of *The* Tiny Declining Fringe Religion known as Unitarian*Universalism aka The U*U Movement are small, and at times quite exclusive, bU*Utiques where one can pick and choose what they want to consume. . .

I have a feeling that Fred might not post it for public viewing.

BTW You might like this little proposal of mine. Feel free to spread it around a bit if you do.
